You have heard it said, “Aren’t all the labs the same?” And the answer is “NO.” A retainer made from any lab may do the job, but does it do it well? At ODL, we take great pride in creating the highest quality product on the market. Other labs may market themselves on price, but at a cost of the quality of the appliance and materials used to create that appliance. We have always looked at our business as a way to create art, in an orthodontic sense of course. In order to create something great you must use the best materials and we have done that. We have been able to work with our suppliers not only to attain the highest quality materials, but at a lower cost to maintain a fair market price for our appliances. We may not be the least expensive lab on the block, but the savings in chair time with an ODL appliance far outweighs the hassles and needed repairs over time of an inferior appliance.
Cr-CO
This is the symbol for Chromium Cobalt; a high quality, high strength alloy which comprises all our wire. It can resist even the toughest abuse. We use Chromium Cobalt wire in all of our appliances, from every adams clasp bent, to our Quad Helix. It is a soft metal that allows ease of bending, but offers strength that is far greater than stainless steel. Stainless steel is brittle and will not last as long, resulting in an increased amount of breakage and more time in repair. A retainer is only as good as its parts.
Acrylic
The majority of patients that receive an appliance are under the age of 18. That is great news for us! It gives us the opportunity to find our inner artist and create some spectacular designs with our acrylic. As with our wire, we have not compromised on our acrylic either. We have sought out the brightest colors to create the most dynamic designs. The acrylic is strong and resistant to breakage, which is why we offer a lifetime guarantee on all our acrylic plates.
Technicians
We train all of our technicians from the ground up. We have perfected the way we bend all of the custom parts offered by ODL. No pre-fab parts here! An adams clasp that is pre-fabricated does not fit as well as a custom bent adams clasp. After all, every tooth is different, and so should every clasp. But you must have the most experienced technicians to meet the ODL standard. That is why we are constantly training our technicians to custom make every part, so you can experience that perfect fit every time.
Quality Control
Can quality control only be experienced from bigger labs? No way! ODL is a small lab that is able to keep an eye on the product every step of the way. We have 5 QC stations dedicated to reviewing the work, all done by a CDT (Certified Dental Technician) with a specialty in orthodontics. Since we are a smaller lab, it makes it easy to focus on every appliance and to ensure it meets or exceeds expectations.
