Removable Appliances
Removable Retainers: Removable appliances are used retain the finished case, maintain space, and allow for minor movement with the integration of springs and jack screws. Our removable appliances are made with wire (chromium cobalt, the industries highest quality wire) that exceeds the class of standard stainless wire and retains excellent memory and strength. With all of our removable appliances you can incorporate multiple parts such as hooks, screws, pontics, habit cribs, and springs. All of our retainers are fabricated using high tech acrylics to give the patient a wide variety of color and designs.
ASTICS Clear Bow Retainer: Orthodent Lab now offers the translucent ASTICS Retainer by BioMers Products, LLC. This new aesthetic orthodontic retainer maintains the functionality of a traditional retainer, but replaces the metal labial bow with a translucent polymer composite wire. Patented polymer composite fabrication technology allows the production of custom translucent wires with performance equivalent to that of metal wires. The flexbile and robust design of the ASTICS allows the formation of soldered hawleys, wrap-arounds, and spring retainers. The ability to retain its shape indefinately provides the necessary rigidity to function as a retainer wire.
With the ASTICS retainer, patients undergoing orthodontic treatment can opt for an aesthetic retainer without foregoing the performance of a traditional acrylic-metal design. The superior aesthetics make it a valuable tool to increase patient compliance and satisfaction.
Any adjustments to the fit can be done at chair side by adjusting the metal U-loops. The shape of the labial bow cannot be adjusted.
Thermal Appliances: These appliances are made using a thermal forming material. Our invisible retainers can be used in conjunction with resets to aid in minor movement.
