We offer a wide of expansion orthodontic appliances to help aid in the arch development of a patient. Depending on what application and forces are necessary, our variety of expanders can assist you in achieving correction for cross-bites, anterior/posterior crowding, and increasing the arch width and length. With all of our appliances you can also incorporate supplementary attachments such as habit devices, class III face mask hooks, headgear tubes, and arch wire tubes.
All of ODL's orthodontic expansion appliances utilize the newest technologies. All of our expanders are guaranteed not to backspin and to withstand even the toughest expansion situations.
Snap Lock Expander
The new Snap Lock Expander offered by Orthodent Lab allows palatal expansions to be carried out more easily and effectively. The expander does not unwind automatically thanks to a built-in safety mechanism. This mechanism makes sure that a flat spring puts pressure on the eccentric spindle. This makes the spindle snap into an ideal position for reactivation and locks it against unwinding. Both patient and clinician will be able to feel how the flat spring snaps in when activating. Consequently, they know the exact position of the spindle. Ultimately, activating the spindle is also a lot easier for the patient as the holes in the spindle are always in the same position, so reactivation is efficient, simple and safe. In case of overactivation, the spindle can be turned back without problems.
Class III Correction
We are always staying up to date with the latest research in Orthodontics, ecspecially those in regards to appliances. We have been closely following the research of the recently deceased Tiziano Baccetti and his Class III research with the use of a bonded RPE and facemask hooks and had the honor of attending a small private session a month before his tragic accident. His research with change the face of Orthodontics and those patients who are in a Class III correction. For a more in-depth, please read the JCO article entitled "The Importance of Class III Over Correction".
