Splints are used to help with bruxism and to help relieve TMJ discomfort. ODL offers multiple splint applications, depending on the severity of the symptoms. If minor discomfort is present, a standard splint can be used. This can also help in the relief of bruxism. For more severe symptoms, such as anteriorly displaced discs, the anterior guidance (Dawson Splint), repositioning, or deprogrammer splint is recommended.
We have been making splints for over 20 years and we know there are more sophisticated processes to create a splint, but time after time, we have our clients telling us the splints fit the occlusion just as well for half the cost.
Note: When sending a splint case, please be sure to provide accurate models and a bite registration to aid in accuracy.
